Temporary Access to WordPress for Technicians and Developers

Sometimes, during the first phase of your web project’s life, which is usually the development phase (although this can happen at other times in a website’s life), you may need to grant third parties access to perform tasks. Is it advisable to provide them with your administrator user credentials? How does this affect the security of your website?

This is a fairly common Support query, where customers who are jealous of their login details (and rightly so) need to create temporary access points in WordPress for certain users with administrator roles so they can perform specific tasks but cannot modify other users’ profiles or perform other actions.
